DRVN Meeting Notes – 18 Sept 2024

Can I achieve my goals with the version of myself that I am now?

e.g. if your goal is to have a relationship, but your mind is ‘All women are toxic’, then no matter what you do, you’ll struggle with your goal.

Leon: The story you tell yourself impacts how you can reach your goal.

Those stories are hallucination. Just like we can see the problems of others more easily, we can see our problems if we look at the story we tell ourselves from the outside.

  1. Asking a friend who you trust, with radical honesty, to tell us the truth, so we can improve on it.
  2. Book “Be your future self now” – Dr Benjamin Hardy. A battle between who we believe we are and who we want to become. We have to connect with that future self.

What do I want?
Define a goal so powerful that it takes care of itself.
–> Define a goal for this year, that is very exciting to you.

We are so different each year. Things that used to seem impossible which are not anymore. The way that we see the world. The people who are around us. Seeing how we are able to change each year should give us hope into knowing that we can also change that much positively in the future.

What would your 10-y version look like? What have you achieved by then? What do you believe about people, society, life? What if you just stepped into this NOW.
It takes courage. You will face social rejection. Hard truths. Challenges. But it might be necessary to reach that goal.

You can talk to that future self, and ask them questions.

Hannah: Sell it first before you build it all.
For creating a product or community: Then you can know how many people want it, you launch it and you can already know in advance what people want. Create a waitlist, get on calls, ask direct feedback to people, make them commited before it even starts. Get testimonial, including video.

Build drive, momentum, and motivation: every time at the end of the day write 3 wins that you’ve achieved.
